Benibaldo C. Mapa Jr., fondly called “Jun” or “Putǒ” by his friends, is a music enthusiast made of pure talent, energy and a healthy dose of sense of humor. In 2002, he graduated from Mapúa Institute of Technology with a degree in Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering. But, being a student in a hardcore technical school never hindered him from loving music. Instead, he found every feasible means to pursue his passion for the arts.
“Music runs in my blood. My maternal grandfather owns a tremolo voice and very skillfully picks a guitar probably because my parents own an orchestra. My paternal grandmother was a known orchestra crooner, and my father inheriting the stuff was a singing star salesman/supervisor, then, of Cosmos Bottling Corporation.
My fondness of music came out naturally. I was nine, when I started to learn the piano. I felt deep enthusiasm to do the craft when I became the organist of the Children’s Choir of the Ascension of Our Lord Parish in Lagro coupled with my active participation in the “Dularuan” a theatrical presentation with an environmental motivation.”

“I pray hard to achieve my sky rocketing desire to attain a degree in music to deepen my knowledge of the fundamental theories, enhance my competencies and to professionalize my inherent talent for the art. I firmly vowed to share my talents for the greater glory of God by continuously doing this Christian service, gain wider scope in serving others, make my life fulfilling and meaningful not only practically but with more relevant and sensible to the present standard sound of music.
But I am incapable to reach my desire. I cannot fly high without the force to propel it. You are the force who can make me fly. You are the wind beneath my wings.”
With all this successful attainments, coupled with his inherent mastery of the art, he is also regarded as one of today’s very promising WEDDING SINGER/performer in the Philippines, both in family occasions and corporate affairs.
The trail to this musician’s chronicle never ends, so is his passion for music and arts.
